Gaura-purnima is the most auspicious day for the Gaudiya Vaishnavas, being the appearance day of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who was known in His childhood and youth as Nimai, Visvambhar, Gaurahari, Gauranga and Gaurasundar.

Srila Prabhupada wanted the Gaura-purnima festival to be celebrated in all ISKCON center a very extraordinary manner. It was also his desire that we distribute prasada profusely to the pilgrims on this occasion.
